Late last Fall we sent out a survey to ask how we can do more to help you land your dream job. Hundreds of our readers responded with a wide range of amazingly valuable feedback and suggestions, but one thing kept coming up.
You want more relevant jobs.
You want more jobs, and you want them to be more relevant to your interests and location.
We think that our website is the best way to help you find more relevant job related content (we’re leaving the daily e-mails as they are for now), so that’s what we’ve been building over the past 6 months.
While we’ve completely rebuilt the site from the ground up, here are the three changes we’re most proud of. There’s more coming, so if you don’t see something that you want, e-mail me at willy@onedayonejob.com and let me know.
You want jobs. That’s why we’ve pulled in the latest jobs from across the web through Indeed.com’s API. Just take a look at any of our 1500+ employer profiles, and you’ll see what we’re talking about.
Some of our posts are nearly five years old. While the information in them is still valuable, the jobs that we highlighted are long gone. As a result, we partnered with Indeed, the best job search engine in the world, to provide up to date job and internship postings on all of our content. Whether you’re looking at a company profile of ESPN or our page on non-profit jobs, you’ll see the kind of jobs and internships that you’re looking for.
Try our new job search engine.
Our site search engine used to suck. Really bad. Now it’s awesome. Type a keyword, company name, location, job type, or anything else in the search box at the top of any one of of our pages and see for yourself.
Google is powering half of our search engine, and Indeed is powering the other half. Whether you want job postings or company profiles, you can find what you’re looking for with our search engine.
This one’s still a work in progress, but it’s going to be pretty sweet. We currently organize all of our company profiles by tag (you can see a list of our most popular tags here). That means that you can browse every company that we’ve profiled with jobs in Finance or opportunities in Connecticut.
Organization is great, but we’ve gone one step further. We’ve developed content on each of these career areas. These “guides” will help you dive deeper into specific topics and learn more about your career options.
They’re not up yet, but they will be soon. Still, the changes we’ve already made to our tag pages should make it way easier for you to find cool opportunities.
Take ten minutes and play around with the new site. Then e-mail me at willy@onedayonejob.com and tell me what you think. I’m looking for suggestions, bug reports, questions, and anything else on your mind. I’ll read every e-mail I get, and try to respond to all of them too.
P.S. Here’s our new logo with all of the days of the week (how it should have looked from the start):
