Advocacy deals with rallying people behind a cause, from individuals to corporations and governments, usually to influence them in some way. Advocates can work for almost any cause: political, environmental, faith, or moral causes to name a few.
If you want to work in advocacy, you’ll most likely be working with an advocacy group that supports your cause. Many of these groups are non-profits and have positions in administration. Some of these groups may also have positions in the public, actively getting people excited about the cause. Most of these positions require a degree, but volunteering and interning are great ways to get involved before graduating.
