Since non-profits perform most outreach, one of the best ways to get a job in outreach is to get involved. Volunteer or intern at an organization related to the cause you’re interested in (even better, the place you want to work). A couple of job titles to look for include Outreach Coordinator and Volunteer Coordinator.
You’ll need a bachelor’s degree for most staff positions involving outreach, along with strong communication skills, passion for your cause of choice, and ability to get along with all types of people.
