Zoology is the study of the animal kingdom. Because zoology is such a broad field, there are many opportunities available. A sampling of industries with zoology jobs include the healthcare industry, wildlife rehabilitation centers, aquariums, nonprofits, laboratories, zoos and fisheries. Some positions you might consider include:

  • Lab assistant
  • Medical technician
  • Research associate
  • Zookeeper
  • Science Teacher
  • Environmental Specialist
  • Animal Care Specialist
  • Science Writer

A bachelor’s degree in a science field such as zoology or biology is required for many zoology positions, but experience may substitute for the degree depending on the industry.
