First of all, if you haven’t entered our HP Magic Giveaway contest yet, you should. It closes at midnight tonight, and you still have a really great shot at winning a $6k prize package from HP, Microsoft, and Corel. Now that we have that out of the way, let’s talk about today’s company, Rally Software of Boulder, CO. I’m sure that a lot of you will cringe because I’m featuring another software company, but it’s hard not to. Software companies are still doing a lot of hiring despite the recession, they seem to value entry level (and all) talent at a much higher level than most other companies, and they typically do a great job of communicating their story. Software companies are a dream to write about, and they set an example that other companies should follow when it comes to an online recruiting presence. Rally Software is no exception, and although a lot of their jobs require technical skills, not all of them do.
Since I spent most of the intro justifying why I’m featuring another software company, I better introduce you to Rally Software. They’re a six year old Boulder, CO based company that provides software-as-a-service to other software development companies who are trying to develop Agile and Lean processes. What exactly does that mean? The results speak for themselves: “Rally customers were proven to have 50% faster time-to-market and a 25% increase in productivity.” Beyond their own software offerings, Rally also offers Agile Coaching and an Agile Community for Collaboration. Put simply, they help other software development houses make better software faster.
Rally Software also has one of the coolest ways of showing their successes that I’ve seen. This set of graphics tells Rally’s story with amazing efficiency – while still looking great. So what about working at Rally Software? Well, the Careers section of their website is fantastic. It’s another great example of online storytelling, and they make it dead simple to find their jobs. You can browse them by categories, or look at all of their available positions. We recommend that you take a look at positions like Customer Success Engineer, Integrations Developer, Junior Software Engineer, Lead Qualifications Representative (non-techie!), Software Engineer – Java Web Applications Developer, User Education Lead, and Volume Sales Representative. Not all of the jobs can be clearly defined as entry level, but they’re at least worth a look. All of the jobs are based out of Boulder, CO, and you can apply by sending a cover letter and resume to jobs@rallydev.com.
