In case you missed them, here are Round #1 and Round #2 of our updates on entry-level jobs at companies that we’ve already featured. We have two more days of revisiting for profit companies, and then we’ll spend the weekend looking at non-profit companies. Here we go…
NORAD: This was our Christmas Eve post, since NORAD is known for tracking Santa. Their jobs are still as hidden as their compound in Cheyenne Mountain.
WowWee: There are no current job openings at WowWee. You can always try cold calling/e-mailing them.
23andMe: They actually have more entry-level appropriate jobs than when we first wrote about them. There are positions in User Interface/Experience, Science Writing, and Customer Liaisons.
Redfin: Redfin doesn’t post specific job openings for new grads, but they have a great college recruiting program. It’s definitely worth sending a resume if one of their entry-level positions inspires you.
American Apparel: There are still quite a few entry-level jobs at American Apparel, although the more we hear about the CEO, the less we think that they’re a good place for a new college graduate to work.
Martinelli’s: There are no job openings on their site, and they say that they don’t want resumes unless they’re for a specific job opening.
Mint: A lot of cool web jobs – web development, user experience, blog management, and viral marketing.
AdMob: There are quite a few software development jobs for new college grads at AdMob.
Better World Books: We love Better World Books, and we’re even partnering with them to bring you some great job search related reading recommendations. They have openings for a Purchasing Manager and a Management Trainee in Operations.
Tesla Motors: Most jobs at Tesla are in Engineering and require experience, but there are a few that might be a good fit for the right entry-level candidate.
jetBlue Airways: There are quite a few jobs at jetBlue, and they’re all over the place (literally and figuratively). You’re going to have to use the search function to see what they have that fits your interests.
BasePoint Analytics: BasePoint doesn’t list specific openings, so you’ll have to apply generally and see what happens.
RapLeaf: They’re still looking for top flight software engineers and systems engineers. If you apply, tell them we sent you, because we’ll get a really nice referral bonus.
Ask Sunday: It looks like Ask Sunday’s job openings are entry-level, but they actually might be beneath most new college grads. It’s really hard to tell from the sparse descriptions.
Mercury Mambo: They use Craigslist more than they use their own website, but they do hire at the entry-level from time to time. Submitting a general application is certainly worthwhile.
The Weather Channel: Ugh! They still have music on their Careers page, but at least they also still have entry-level jobs in meteorology and advertising sales.
MLB Trade Rumors: This was a one shot deal. MLB Trade Rumors is still growing really well, but we don’t think they’ll be hiring again any time soon. But, who knows?
Apple: There are tons of entry-level jobs at Apple, and they’re really easy to find on their Careers site.
Associated Press: There are still all kinds of job openings in journalism with the AP, many of them are perfect for new grads. Be sure to read our post for tips on how to navigate their Careers site.
Elgato Systems: Elgato finally added a jobs page, and actually have an opening in Macintosh Technical Support that would be a great fit for many new grads. Another Update: since we posted this a day ago, Elgato Systems has removed their jobs page. We guess it’s like the Room of Requirement and only appears when its needed.
