If you’ve been reading for a while, you may have noticed that I go on a lot of fishing trips. The problem is that any time my Dad and I go somewhere, he tries to turn it into an annual trip (it’s not actually a problem at all). In fact, the company was started in 1965 when Dr. Bob Smith created ” the first ever fog-free snow goggle utilizing a sealed thermal lens and breathable vent foam.” Today Smith Optics’ product line “spans the range of snow and moto goggles, performance and style eyewear, ballistic Military eyewear, Ophthalmic eyewear, and snow helmets.” It’s a company filled with people who are passionate about the outdoors, and it shows in what they make. It also shows in Smith Optics’ HR policies. They offer great benefits and were named “as one of Outside Magazine’s top eight Best Places to Work.” The Idaho location is obviously a big part of it. I’ve had my eye on Smith Optics for years, and it never seems that they post many jobs.
