We’re trying to figure out what the :: in thunder::tech is all about. All that we can come up with is that it reminds us of the analogies section of the SATs (some of you are probably too young to have experienced that, since the College Board dumped analogies a few years ago); although, the SAT analogies were in the form of:
One Day, One Job : entry-level jobs :: buffalo sauce : wings
If you have a better analogy for us, we’d love to hear from you in the comments. We’d also love to hear from you if you know what the :: in thunder::tech is about. thunder::tech “is a web design shop, ad agency, PR firm, and design & branding studio all rolled into one.” They are an unbelievably fun company to research (but their website is totally distracting, in a good way), and they seem like an awesome place to start a career.
Here are 5 things that we really like about thunder::tech:
As you can see, the people at thunder::tech not only have a good sense of humor, but they’re actually funny. They also have an awesome website, which you’d hope they would, since web design is a big part of their business. Don’t be surprised if you waste (put to really good use doing research) half an hour on their site. It’s completely engaging, and we’ll be surprised if it doesn’t instantly make you want to work at thunder::tech – even if you don’t have skills or a background relevant to their core businesses. thunder::tech does seem to put a really heavy focus on having fun, but they do actually work sometimes – just look at their amazing portfolio.
thunder::tech is located in Cleveland, OH, and they’re currently looking for Account Manager/Coordinators. They’re also always looking to meet people who excel in design, development, publicity, advertising, and operations. We’re not sure exactly what they have at the entry-level besides Account Coordinator positions, but we’re sure that they’ll find a place for you if you can hit a softball 400 ft. You can find everything that you need to know on thunder::tech’s Jobs page. Their job descriptions are awesome (it’s too bad there’s only one full-time job listed), so read the internship descriptions if you want to be entertained. thunder::tech has an easy online application form, so head over to thunder::tech’s site and start wandering around so that you can convince yourself to apply. The application form is the same for all positions, so you can use it to apply for an unlisted position too.

Thanks for the great post about thunder::tech! For us, it’s simple: when you like what you do and who you work with, work does seem like play.
While your guess as to the colons in our name referencing an analogy deserves three stars, that’s not exactly what we had in mind. Since we’re not just going to hand you the meaning on a silver plat::ter, we’ll give you a hint through an analogy of our own:
